Land from front
                                                                                                          View from the front

Our present situation:
  • We live on the outskirts of the city but it becomes more and more urbanized.
  • In 2000, Dehradun became the capital of Uttarakhand. Since then the price of buying land and renting houses has more than doubled.
  • Today we rent seven houses. In one, we have a classroom, the office and the girls dorm. The second house is for the boys dorm and the other five are for the families that live outside of the centre. Yearly rent is Rs. 4,25,600 (approx. $9,100 USD / 6700 Euro).
  • We believe strongly in multiplication through training.

When we run a DTS we can’t run a secondary level school at the same time!
So we need to find a piece of land. We have found a piece of very suitable property and want to take up the challenge.

The past year or so has seen this base very busy. We have run two DTS as well as an FCM (IBC). The DTS went well with 13 students from four nations. They graduated in October. Several new staff joined us. In January we ran a bilingual Hindi-English Foundations in Counseling Ministries (formerly Intro to Biblical Counseling) with 22 students.

While they were on outreach, the ninth DTS batch began. They have completed their lecture phase and are now on outreach. We have five teams and 20 students going to diverse parts of India and beyond. It has been a challenging batch, but we are looking forward to seeing how God will use each of them on their outreaches.

The last year has seen several weddings and births in our YWAM Dehradun family, so we are growing!

On 9 November 2011, the tenth DTS batch will begin. We are currently accepting applications for this school. We are excited to see what God will do in and through the next batch of students.

Christmas time come and go again we can’t hold back, and we need to face the Challenges ahead of us.

DUN’S SLUMMer DIRT ARE WASH AWAY :

As the Lord has spoken to us, through Isaiah 45:1-3. He really revealed to us, we had a privilege to serve two big slum area during our local outreach, we washed  more than hundreds children by warm water, we cut their nails and hair. Many parent were so surprise to see us and they start invited into their home, some of our student were amaze to see themselves doing such things.
These love act truly built our character to be more like Christ.  Benefit in both way.

DUN’S  FAMILIES  HEAR  JESUS  :
Music_team_in_restaurant_In Christmas celebration, the Lord open new door.

Dear friends and partners in the harvest,

newsletteroct2009_1The DTS is finished and all of the teams had a great time in the different outreach locations. We went to places as Orissa to run a discipleship seminar and to distribute some needed toiletry things among the victims of the persecution, Bihar among the Yadav and flood victims, Chittoor in remote villages and among the Yadava people, Nepal in a children house in Katmandu and surrounding villages, Shilong in the prayer house and mercy ministries, Mumbai among the street kids, house visiting HIV victims and slum ministry. In Punjab they were very busy visiting houses and churches and in Jammu they had prayer walks and sometimes had to walk many hours to visit just one family. Delhi among refugees from Afghanistan (it seems we will get some more Afghani students) and Kazakhstan...a big challenge but God has been so good to confirm our vision to reach out to South and Central Asia.19 out of 20 students graduated. Hallelujah!newsletteroct2009_2

We are in our holiday and preparing for the next DTS, starting October 14th.

New moves...

Esther and Amos, went to Delhi to be on staff in the IBC (Introduction to Biblical Counseling), Jai and Nisha are looking forwards to go to Costa Rica and to do a EARS school (Environment And Recourse Stewardship school), Rudi and Asha still coordinating the Yadav people and like to see a evangelistic movie being produced by Create International and Biaka is working towards his dream to go for a SOW (school of Worship) also in Costa Rica.

We are moving and God is giving many victories but we also have many struggles. They help us to depend on the Lord and on your prayers and support. In the last months we had to send 3 of our staff under discipline, what was not easy to decide, but now they are doing well or better...

We gave a challenge to all our staff to trust God for complete staff fees in less than 3 months... if not we will send them home. This was not a very easy matter to communicate but needed to help them grow in trusting God, being faithful stewards, ... (but some of us really don't have any regular support so please stand with us in prayer and feel free to ask more information if you consider supporting one of our staff with a small regular amount.

Another big challenge...

We believe that the Lord is announcing that it's time to go for a base four wheeler. We looked already for a Maruti van and for a Tata Magic. It seems okay for first sight but we still struggling with our inner voice. Is that the right vehicle for us. We are still not very sure about what is best for us but we know if we have vehicle for sure that will be helpful for shopping, picking and dropping speakers, hosting teams, local outreaches, etc.

newsletteroct2009_3__vanThe Lord provided already 1,20,000 Rs... our remaining need is at least 1,20,000 Rs. (2500 USD or 1700 Euro) as we believe it will be good that we go for a diesel engine. More costly to buy but less monthly expenses later and that is also very important.

Please pray for us. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information or to know how to contribute if the Lord speaks to you.

Bless you all, In the name of YWAM Dehradun family.
